This is the story of a real footballer’s wife, her family and her work. .

Nicola & TomNicola McLean: Studs and Stilettos is a 60 minute show which follows the lives of newlyweds Nicola McLean and Tom Williams. Nicola McLean is an ex-glamour model and TV personality who is best known for her appearance on "I'm a Celebrity" in 2008.  Tom Williams is a footballer on the edge of the Premiership, playing for recently promoted Peterborough United but throughout the show secures a loan move to QPR. Along with their son Rocky, this show will be give you a behind the scenes glimpse into their lives as they cope with the prospect of a new baby in their family, and with uncertain futures as they deal with their careers heading in different directions under new magement.  

In this episode we join Nicola and Tom in Marbella where they are juggling some family time together alongside a photo shoot in Marbella. We immediately learn about the pressures of being a professional footballer as Tom is delayed from joining Nicola after the team had a poor performance on the pitch the night before and he must take a later flight. Whilst on a photo shoot in Spain Nicola reveals her pregnancy and her excitement about having a new member of the family.

Nicola Tom RockyBack in London, we join Nicola and Tom with Doctor Gibb in Harley Street as he gives Nicola her first ultrasound scan. We pick up Tom’s back-story at Peterborough United finding out about Tom's boyhood dreams of playing at a professional level, his career to date, and his aspirations and goals for the future. Back in London with Nicola we learn about the pressures of living with a footballer and how many times they have had to move house. This is again shown in the following scene where Tom learns that his contract at Peterborough is up and he is able to move to another club. That night, Nicola and Tom meet up in London to discuss how another move could affect the family. Nicola also confesses that she hasn’t been sleeping well and has anxieties about next year with the new baby and not knowing where they will be living.

Nicola, RockyWe follow the family on a day out at the Zoo. We see how the family are very tight and how well bonded they are with their son Rocky. We find out about Nicola and Tom's back-story - their first date was also a zoo and Nicola reveals it was love at first sight. Back in London and there is good news for Tom. QPR have agreed to take him on loan to the end of the season and we accompany Tom to his former club to meet the chairman to sign his contract. With the future looking more secure, the family spend an afternoon at home where Rocky impresses everyone with his puppet show. A few days later and we are with Nicola again getting ready for a shoot. We learn Nicola’s modeling back story, and how through sheer perseverance she managed to get herself onto page 3 of The Sun.  

The final part of the show sees Nicola making an emotional farewell to Tom and Rocky as she departs for Australia to sit on the panel of “I’m a Celebrity”. We are also there when she returns, which happens to coincide with Tom’s first home game for QPR. Nicola rushes straight from the airport to make the game, and after 10 days apart the family are delighted to be reunited.
